In my most beautiful moment?
For this,
I have prayed before Buddha for 500 years.
I beseeched him to entwine our earthly fates.
So Buddha transformed me into a tree
Growing on a roadside you couldn’t avoid.
The sun shone down,
Cautiously, an abundance of flowers bloomed.
Each and every flower bearing my past lives’ longing
As you draw near
Please, listen closely:
The shuddering leaves
Is the passion of my waiting.
Yet, when – at last – you passed by, you ignored me.
That which showers the Earth behind you,
O’, friend!
Those are not petals,
But the pieces of my wilted heart.
